Artist Statement
Through the Art of Turning wood, I celebrate the beauty of nature, showcasing the inherent charm and imperfections in every piece of timber. Inspired by the Japanese philosophy of wabi-sabi, I aim to capture nature’s imperfections and embrace the unique stories etched by time. Each turning becomes a testament that accentuates the beauty nature has left behind.

Cherry Burl Bowl
A turned cherry burl wood bowl with natural edges, bark, and insect inclusions.

A lighthouse turned from applewood with live edge base to resemble a rustic coastline.

Biography:
Andrew Eaton, born in Maine and now living in New Hampshire with his wife Katie, discovered a passion for woodturning. Self-taught, he finds joy in transforming rough wood into functional and artistic pieces, viewing it as a form of self-expression and connection with nature. Grateful for the opportunity to pursue the Art of Turning, Andrew continues to explore and push the boundaries of woodturning.
